Email review — 6 sends, Aug 1–12

All six sends are built and listed below, including the Aug 1 anniversary email. Each card opens its own email when you tap it.

Nothing has been pushed or scheduled. All five cards below are settled and just need a tap to clear. Then the six emails: each card shows the subject, the send date and the opening lines, and Show the email loads the full thing — one at a time, so your phone only ever holds one. Hit Copy answers when you are done and paste them back to Iris.

First — where the five open items landed

SETTLED — the anniversary reads as two years

Why this matters

Four sources say IGL launched August 1st 2024 (two years), including your own P.S. line “our two-year anniversary on August 1st,” which already shipped to this exact segment on July 21. The brand knowledge base says 2025 and is the lone outlier. The copy is written as two years and stays that way. Nothing to do unless that is wrong.

SETTLED — $6.94 credit now, tiered thank-you in September

Why this matters

The old anniversary discount code is gone from both emails. In its place: send 1 gives you a $6.94 store credit, written as a balance you already own rather than a coupon, on code K7VD3 — the same $6.94 as the proven Advent code. Send 6 closes that credit at midnight Aug 11 and adds a forward-dated thank-you: spend $60, get a $10 store credit in September; spend $100, get a $25 gift card in September. Flat dollars, never percentages. The tiers need nothing built — we pull the qualifying orders after the window closes and email the codes in early September. The code now exists. K7VD3 was created in Shopify on your explicit instruction — fixed $6.94 off, all items, no minimum, once per customer, ending 2026-08-13 23:59 CDT, status SCHEDULED. That real end date is the unadvertised ~2-day grace window; the copy still says midnight Tue Aug 11 and never names the true expiry. Nothing left to build.

SETTLED — the live tree count is 11,090

Why this matters

Verified from your screenshot of the counter on inspiredgardenlife.com. Sends 1 and 6 say we “crossed eleven thousand,” which is true at 11,090, so that sentence stands exactly as written. Nothing to type.

SETTLED — yes, both meet-ups named and openly invited

Why this matters

Your two screenshots of the public posts in the Tomato Lovers Collective group settled it: both gatherings are already announced publicly, and we are the named shirt sponsor on the West Coast poster. Send 4 was rebuilt to celebrate both tables and invite openly. West Coast: Sunday August 9, Lodi, California — the free-shirt line is written in the past tense about gardeners who already confirmed with Jamie, so it promises nothing to anyone reading now. East Coast: Friday August 28, noon to 6pm Eastern, Main Pavilion at Letort Park, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, suggested $5 donation, hosted by Jen & Lauren, genuinely open to anyone. The old “celebrates it but does not invite anyone” framing is gone.

SETTLED — fee talk removed from the email per Tim

Why this matters

Per your call, fee talk is out of the email entirely. Send 2 no longer mentions any charge, any amount, or any “free” framing in the other direction either; cost particulars stay in the one-to-one reply from support. The policy itself is still named out loud as who we are: keep the shirt, garden in it, hand it to a fellow plant lover, or donate it. Nothing left to verify in Shopify for this send.

two years ago today, we hit publish and held our breath
A thank-you note, an answer to the question we asked you in July, and one small tree.

Two years of growing this with you Two years ago today, on the first of August, we opened Inspired Garden Life. Two people at a kitchen table in Springfield, Missouri, with a garden out back and no earthly idea whether anyone would want what we were making. We put our first advertisement into the world that morning…

Most of what we believe ends up on a shirt eventually. But there is one belief we have been practicing for two years without ever saying it out loud, and it lives in the least romantic place in the whole company: our exchange policy. We call it the Mindful Garden Path, and if you have ever written to us about a size…

the fall garden gets planted in the worst week of summer 🥬
Nobody wants to sow lettuce in August. That is exactly when it has to happen.

The Cruelest Trick in Gardening Here is the trick nobody warns you about. The fall garden does not get planted in the fall. It gets planted right now, in the first two weeks of August, in the heat, while the tomatoes are still coming in and the whole yard looks like it needs a nap. You count backward from your first…

This Sunday, August 9th, the Tomato Lovers Collective holds its first ever West Coast Tomato Tasting and Seed Swap in Lodi, California. Bring tomatoes to taste, bring seeds to swap if you saved any, and come empty handed if you did not, because nobody is checking at the door. We are not the organizers. We are the…

the August garden is allowed to look terrible
Ours does. There is a reason, and it is not neglect.

Exhale You will notice that the gardening magazines skip straight from June to October. There is a reason for that. By the second week of August the tomato vines have gone leggy and yellow at the ankles, the squash has powdery mildew, something has eaten the beans, and the whole plot has the look of a room after a…

Ten days ago we told you it was our anniversary, and that together we had put eleven thousand mangrove trees on the Kenyan coast, one shirt at a time. A good many of you wrote back. Several of you told us stories about a shirt we made that ended up somewhere we never imagined. We have read all of it, and we will be a…
